Willy T. Ribbs Racing Announces

NEWTON, IA - June 25, 2011- Willy T. Ribbs Racing's Chase Austin retired 20 laps short of the checkered flag at Iowa Speedway with mechanical issues but was still able to record his second consecutive top-10 finish, after making just his second open-wheel start in the Firestone Indy Lights Series.

"We had a really tough weekend in Iowa," said Austin, who started 13th after a fuel pump pressure issue prevented him from finishing his qualifying attempt Friday. "Everyone tried their best but it just didn't turn out how we had hoped."

Austin was competing in his second one-off effort for Willy T. Ribbs Racing in conjunction with Starting Grid, Inc. through a partnership with American Honda Motor Company, Inc.

"Obviously the result this weekend wasn't what we were expecting," said team co-owner Ribbs, who also ran Austin at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this past May where the team recorded a ninth place result. "It's unfortunate how it all unfolded but hopefully we'll have an opportunity for some more races down the line."

The Firestone Indy Lights' race was contested on the 7/8-mile Iowa Speedway oval and shown live in High Definition (HD) on NBC Sports' VERSUS (VS) Network.
